大暑节气是24节气的第12个节气，也是夏季最后一个节气，一般公历的7月22-24号左右为大暑节气的开始。暑，是炎热的意思，这个节气到了一年中温度最好的时候，此时地面吸热大于散热，气压比较低，属于闷热，因此称为大暑。

The Dashu solar term is the 12th solar term of the 24 solar terms, and also the last solar term of summer. Generally, the beginning of the Dashu solar term is around July 22-24 in the Gregorian calendar. Shu “means hot. This solar term is the hottest time of the year, when the ground absorbs more heat than dissipates it, and the air pressure is relatively low. 大暑节气正值“三伏天”里的“中伏”前后，是一年中最热的时段。大暑时节阳光猛烈、高温潮湿多雨，虽不免有湿热难熬之苦，却十分有利于农作物成长，农作物在此期间成长最快。 

The Dashu solar term falls around the middle of the “Sanfu” period, which is the hottest time of the year. During the Great Heat Festival, let’s participate in a food education activity – let’s make a delicious bowl of mung bean soup together with the children from Baston Kindergarten! 一候腐草为萤。还记得小时候，在盛夏的晚饭后，大人小孩三三两两来到巷子里，白日的闷热好像消散了一些，一阵阵凉风吹过，小孩子快活的从这头跑到另一头，偶尔遇见一群萤火虫，便是整个夏日最最开心的事情，现在的孩子们可能很少有机会有这样的时刻，所以老师带着孩子们一起绘制了“盛夏星萤图”，认识了萤火虫，来看看孩子们的萤火虫吧！

The decaying grass turns into fireflies. I still remember when I was a child, after dinner in the summer, adults and children would come to the alley in twos and threes. 第二候是说天气开始变得闷热，土地也很潮湿。

第三候是说时常有大的雷雨会出现，这大雨使暑湿减弱，天气就会变得越来越凉爽，马上就要到了秋天了，在民间还有一场秋雨一场寒的说法。
