Meaning of Guyu
谷雨是传统二十四节气中的第六个节气，也是春季的最后一个节气。春将尾，万物新，当天空中飘荡着清新的雨丝，春天的故事即将结束，这时繁密的春雨给大地带来生机和滋润，谷雨这一节气名称就是从古人“雨生百谷”来的。
Guyu is the sixth solar term in the traditional 24 solar terms and the last solar term in spring. Spring is coming to an end and everything is new. When fresh raindrops float in the sky, the story of spring is about to end. At this time, the dense spring rain brings vitality and moisture to the earth. The name of Guyu comes from the ancient saying “rain gives birth to hundreds of grains”.
Three signs of Grain Rain
一侯萍始生
The first sign is duckweed begins to grow
谷雨过后，降雨量逐渐增多，水面上的浮萍也开始生长起来。
After Grain Rain, rainfall gradually increases, and duckweed on the water surface also begins to grow.
The second sign is cuckoos brushing their feathers
布谷鸟的叫声就像是大自然的闹钟，提醒这人们开始忙碌了。
The cuckoo’s call is like nature’s alarm clock, reminding people to get busy.
The third sign is hoopoes landing on mulberry trees
戴胜鸟又称为鸡冠鸟，它们落在桑树上，预示着蚕即将开始生长。
Hoopoe birds are also called cockscomb birds. They land on mulberry trees, indicating that silkworms are about to start growing.

Appreciating peonies
在谷雨的三日时光里，跟孩子一起欣赏盛开的牡丹，感受锦花秀草，满园春色。
During the three days of Guyu, enjoy the blooming peonies with your children, and feel the beautiful flowers and grass, and the spring scenery in the garden.
Sea worship
带孩子参加一场海祭仪式吧，感受海水逐渐变暖，大量鱼类开始游向近海区域，此时正是捕捞的合适时机。
Take your children to participate in a sea worship ceremony, and feel the sea water gradually warming up. A large number of fish begin to swim to the offshore area. This is the right time to catch them.
Tea picking
抓住春天温度适中的尾巴，正式采茶的好时候，和孩子来一次说走就走的采茶旅行。

Guyu Diet
谷雨有着“雨生百谷”的意思，接下来的一段时间雨水也会逐渐增多。雨水一过，即将正式迎来夏天，它意味着春夏的交替，而在这段时间，饮食也要跟着调整，顺应节气。
Guyu means “rain brings forth all kinds of grains”, and the amount of rain will gradually increase over the next period of time. Once the rain is over, summer will officially arrive, which means the transition from spring to summer. During this period, the diet should also be adjusted to follow the solar terms.
Guyu Tea
“谷雨谷雨，采茶对雨”。谷雨这一天所采摘的茶叶，谷雨茶色泽翠绿，叶质柔软，富含多种维生素和氨基酸，香气宜人。谷雨茶又叫二春茶，因为谷雨茶生长在温和的春季，春季温度也适中，所以谷雨茶都有清热去火的功效特点，可以用作茶疗。在谷雨来临时，沏一杯清香宜人的谷雨茶，品出鲜嫩的茶香，在茶韵中感受谷雨的气息。
“Guyu, Guyu, tea picking for rain”. The tea leaves picked on Guyu day are emerald green, soft, rich in vitamins and amino acids, and have a pleasant aroma. Guyu tea is also called Erchun tea. Because Guyu tea grows in the mild spring, the temperature in spring is also moderate, so Guyu tea has the effect of clearing heat and removing fire, and can be used as tea therapy. Eat coriander
中医认为，香菜性温味辛，能健脾消食、利尿通便，春季末尾吃些香菜能发散一下寒气，非常适合谷雨时节食用。
Chinese medicine believes that coriander is warm and spicy, can strengthen the spleen and digestion, and promote urination and defecation. Eating some coriander at the end of spring can dissipate the cold, which is very suitable for consumption during the Guyu season.
Eat Toona sinensis
谷雨前后，香椿头醇香可口。人们在春天采摘香椿，用来制作关于春天独特的美食，称为吃春。小朋友们跟随老师一起认识香椿，亲手用香椿制作香椿鸡蛋饼。
Before and after Guyu, the head of Toona sinensis is mellow and delicious. People pick Toona sinensis in spring and use it to make unique spring delicacies, which is called eating spring. The children followed the teacher to learn about Toona sinensis and made Toona sinensis egg pancakes with Toona sinensis.
Three-color rice
谷雨时节苗族会迎来传统节日“三月三”，苗家这天会吃三色饭。“三色饭”的来历传说是喜欢居住在深山的苗胞要想生存，不同姓氏或家族的苗人必须团结一致，与大自然抗争。因此，每到“三月三”，他们便通过“三色饭”来表达这种宗族之间的特殊情感——每一种颜色的米饭就代表着一个姓氏或家族。
During the Grain Rain season, the Miao people will usher in the traditional festival “March 3rd”, and the Miao people will eat three-color rice on this day. The origin of “three-color rice” is said to be that in order for the Miao people who like to live in the mountains to survive, the Miao people of different surnames or families must unite and fight against nature. Therefore, every “March 3rd”, they use “three-color rice” to express this special feeling between clans-each color of rice represents a surname or family.
