今天我们要介绍的是二十四节气中的第10个节气——夏至，它也是夏季的第四个节气，表示炎热将至。夏至是二十四节气中最早被确定的一个节气，古时又称“夏节”、“夏至节”，人们会通过祭神来祈求没有灾害，获得丰收。夏至这天，太阳直射地面的位置到达一年的最北端，几乎直射北回归线。此时，北半球的白昼最长，并且越往北越长。

每年的夏至从6月21日（或22日）开始，到7月7日（或8日）结束。我国民间把这15天分成3“时”，一般头时3天，中时5天，末时7天。这期间我国大部分地区气温较高，日照充足，农作物生长很快，此时的降水对农业产量影响很大，有“夏至雨点值千金”之说。
