“Don’t be greedy, kids. Laba is the New Year”, this is an old Beijing nursery rhyme that has been circulated to this day, meaning that soon will be the New Year.
腊八节，俗称“腊八”，即是农历十二月初八，古人有祭祀祖先和神灵、祈求丰收吉祥的传统。为了让小朋友们进一步了解中华优良传统文化，提升动手能力和社会实践能力，我们一起度过了一个温暖的腊八节。
The Laba Festival, commonly known as “Laba”, is the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month. In old times, people had the tradition of offering sacrifices to ancestors and gods, praying for a good harvest. In order to let the children learn more about the traditional Chinese culture, we celebrated a warm Laba Festival together.

Laba Festival also have our delicious Laba Congee. On this day, the children not only learned about the ingredients for making Laba Congee, but also tasted it. “This porridge is so sweet, I will tell my mother how to do it when I get home.”
