【家长会报告系列之五】蒙特梭利小学班 想象力与听从指令

在冬季和外太空的主题中，大象班和棕熊班的学生们有机会做了很多语言区域相关的工作。在过去的一系列节日里，我们学习了各国的文化，包括庆祝圣诞节，新年，中国年以及元宵节。
我们在过去的一段时间里也在努力练习上小学所需的课堂技巧，例如听从指令以及无需翻译听懂一些相对复杂的英文指令。 
在故事时间，我们学习了一系列的儿童文学经典，其中包括罗尔德达尔的查理和巧克力工厂，这是学生们非常喜欢的一本书。他们的想象力也发展的非常好。
春季我们将会把重点放在算术上。我们会继续加减乘除的记忆工作，我们还会练习十进制之外的系统，包括时钟和日历。当天气转暖，我们会进行更多植物学的工作。
我们现在两个校区都有蒙特梭利小学班级，两边校区的教学内容是统一的，当然我们也会根据每个学生的不同能力和需求来进行教学。 
The Elephant and Bear classrooms during the winter period were full of language work thanks to a number of fun themes like winter and outer space. We also used the holiday season to learn about our culture and the celebrations of Christmas, New Year’s Day, Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.
We have continued to develop our classroom skills, including an emphasis on listening to instructions and understanding instructions given in English.  
Story time covered several literary classics for children, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, which they loved. Our Elephant and Bear classes have really developed their imagination skills.
During the spring we are going to emphasize arithmetic. We will continue to explore the memorization work of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We are also going to practice other systems beyond the decimal system, such as the clock and the calendar. We will begin our botany work when the weather becomes warmer.
You have almost certainly noticed that our Elementary classrooms are now spread across both branches of Sunshine Home. Rest assured that the content of the classes is consistent across both sites, although of course we tailor the actual work to the ability and needs of each individual student.
