Grain in Ear is the ninth solar term in the twenty-four solar terms of the lunar calendar, and the third solar term in summer, indicating the official start of the midsummer season. ‘Mang Zhong’ and ‘Busy Zhong’ are homophonic. At this time, it is a busy season for farmers, and the farmland is often bustling with activity. This is the best time to plant grain crops with grains.
The Origin of the Grain in Ear Solar Term
Mang seed, the beginning of the Meridian Moon in the Ganzhi calendar, means “grain crops with awns can be planted”. This season has a significant increase in temperature, abundant rainfall, and high air humidity, making it suitable for planting grain crops such as rice. Agricultural cultivation is limited by the “grain planting” solar term, after which the survival rate of planting decreases.
It is a reflection of ancient agricultural culture on festivals.
Keep it in mind and draw wheat ears
During the Grain season, the seeds of crops with grains such as barley and wheat have matured, and the plump grains of wheat depict the pride of the season with a simple and complete expression. Children use paper to draw bright, clear, and vibrant wheat ears, and use their childlike expressive power to stir out the “rhythm of life”。
Grass Fighting Game
In ancient times, there was also a festival of fighting grass, also known as “stepping on a hundred grasses”. The rule is to have children choose the grass that they think is the most resilient, make a cross of it and pull it hard. The side that keeps more grass is the winner.

Who knows that every meal on the plate is laborious
On the noon of the hoeing day, sweat drips down the soil. Unexpectedly, every grain of food in the dish is hard. “This song,” Compassionate Farmers, “which has been passed down for thousands of years, is simple in language, easy to understand, and catchy. At this point, we can use the Grain in Ear solar term to help children understand the hard-earned nature of food, cherish food from a young age, not to waste, and act on empty plates.
Mangseed Food Health Preservation
In summer, the humidity is heavy, leading to poor appetite and fatigue. Sour drinks such as sour plum soup and plum wine can effectively strengthen the spleen, dispel dampness, and increase appetite; Eating more bitter foods can also help alleviate fatigue.
In ancient times, cooking green plums taught children the knowledge of seasonal health preservation related to mango seeds. It’s best to mix sour plum soup with children to give them a different mango seed experience.

During the harvest season, plant happiness and harvest hope! May all the patience brought better results!
May all the goodness come unexpectedly!
