每年在新蕊美术艺术节上， 我们都能深刻地感受到孩子们如此热爱艺术。虽然他们无法用言语清晰地描述自己对世界的感受和想法，但他们更容易通过艺术来表达自己。
孩子们用丰富的艺术材料和艺术形式表达自己的想法和感受。当他们看到自己和朋友的艺术作品时，他们学会了珍惜和欣赏差异。对幼儿来说，这个创造的过程远比艺术作品本身重要。幼儿参与艺术和手工艺体验有益于他们各个方面地发展。
At the Annual Sunrise Art Festival, we can deeply feel that children love art so much. Although they can’t clearly describe their feelings and thoughts about the world in words, they may be able to express more easily through art.
Children express their thoughts and feelings with rich art materials and art forms. As they view their own creation and those of their friends, they learn to value and appreciate differences. For children, the process of creating is most important, not what they actually create.
Engaging in art and craft experiences benefits all aspects of children’s development.
制作艺术品可以极大地提高幼儿的精细运动技能和手眼协调能力。
由于大多数艺术和手工艺活动涉及手指操作，如剪纸和粘贴、绘画、涂色等活动可以帮助幼儿发展更好的协调性和灵活性，如穿珠和雕刻粘土等活动还可以提高他们的视觉空间技能。研究表明，培养这些技能可以为幼儿在其他学科（包括写作、识字、数学和科学）取得更好的学业成绩。
Making art can drastically improve children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Activities like cutting and gluing paper, finger painting, and drawing can help children develop better coordination and dexterity while threading beads and sculpting clay can improve visual-spatial skills. Studies have shown that building these skills translates into better academic outcomes for kids in other subjects including writing, literacy, mathematics, and science.

Social and emotional development represent children’s ability to control their feelings or behaviors, get along with others, and recognize and understand the emotions of people around them.

Children often use art to help them deal with emotions. Art provides kids with critical sensory input and can help children express their feelings in a multidimensional way even if they lack the vocabulary to describe their feelings with words. Only artistic expression can provide children with enough sensory input， inspire their imagination and curiosity.
幼儿从事艺术活动时候，有机会与兴趣相似的同伴进行互动和社交，在与他人的合作中建立友好的关系，创建良好的班级氛围。
When children engage in artistic activities, they have the opportunity to interact and socialize with peers with similar interests. Children establish friendly relations in cooperation with others and create a good class atmosphere.
艺术和手工艺相关的活动会带给幼儿自豪感和成就感，这有助于提升他们的自尊心和自信心。
Arts and crafts related activities will bring children a sense of pride and achievement, which helps to improve their self-esteem and self-confidence.
幼儿通过艺术活动除了学习形状和颜色，还学习不同的图案和数字。有些手工艺需要将复杂的设计形象化，而形象化和记忆复杂设计的活动将有助于孩子提高记忆力。
Apart from learning new shapes and colors, kids also learn about different patterns and figures. Some crafts require visualizing complex designs and the habit of visualizing and remembering complex designs will help children to improve their memory.

Arts and crafts provide a platform for the kids to create new things. It makes them think differently and innovate. It cultivates children’s ability to solve problems and promotes children’s creativity. In short，arts and crafts will make children more resourceful and versatile.

Art activities are like games for children, allowing them to explore and experiment in an open and free environment, whether the results are satisfactory or disappointing, children are not afraid to try new things. Children who love art activities constantly develop resilience, critical thinking, observation and problem-solving skills, and also learn to appreciate and express themselves in this process.
艺术课程不仅仅是PYP六个学科课程的一个分支，也是基本的教育资源。幼儿参与艺术创作，在这个过程中他们将在一个连续的行动和反思周期中进行探索和实验。PYP小学项目把这种创作过程视为通过探究开展学习的驱动力量。幼儿在艺术创作中勇于尝试，善于交流，积极思考。艺术创作与艺术欣赏会令人愉悦，并鼓励幼儿在生活中和学习上不懈地创新。
这正是我们新蕊幼儿园每年举办美术艺术节的意义所在。
Art course is not only a branch of PYP’s six subject courses; but also a basic educational resource.
Arts engage students in creative processes through which they explore and experiment in a continual cycle of action and reflection. Such creative processes are seen by the PYP as the driving force in learning through inquiry.
Children are brave to try in artistic creation, good at communication and positive thinking. Artistic creation and artistic appreciation will be pleasant, and children are encouraged to make unremitting innovation in life and learning.
This is the significance of Annual Art Festival in Sunrise kindergarten.
