我的名字是Sonia Dumas，自2014年8月就在厦门生活。我是阳光灿烂的一名蒙特梭利老师。我喜欢和我的孩子们在一起，因为他们活泼可爱，充满生命力。
我真的很喜欢厦门这座城市，它是我在中国见过的最美丽的城市。这儿没有被太多的污染，所以几乎每一天我们都可以看到湛蓝而清澈的天空。海滩好美啊，我可以在海滩上散步好几个小时呢，在岸边，凝视着渔船和小岛，我想起了我加拿大的家。
我喜欢厦门的风景名胜，更喜欢这里的人们。最近发生了一件让我非常暖心的事情。Gabe，原来我们班上的一个小男孩，他在八月份的时候离开我们，准备到其他学校读书。当时我很难过，我们跟他道别，希望他一切都好好的。
然后，就在前几天，我同事告诉我，我们班将会来个新生：他就是我们的好朋友Gabe！原来当他离开之后，每天他都跟妈妈说他非常非常的想念我，所以家里最后还是决定让他重新回到我们学校，回到我的班上。我深深的被他所感动！
我曾在加拿大、墨西哥和土耳其工作，但中国的孩子是最可爱最乐于付出的孩子们。他们的父母非常重视教育重视老师，他们很欣赏我们为其孩子们所做的一切工作。这就是为什么我感觉到自己就是厦门的一分子，就是阳光灿烂这个大家庭的一分子。
My name is Sonia Dumas and I have lived in Xiamen since August 2014. I work at Sunshine Home as a Montessori teacher. I enjoy being with my students so much because they are fun and full of life.
I really like Xiamen, it's the most beautiful city I have seen in China. There is not much pollution and we can enjoy clear blue skies almost every day. The beach is just wonderful and I can walk on the beach for hours. Gazing on the fishing boats and the islets off shore remind me of my home in Canada.
As much as I adore the city of Xiamen, it’s the people even more than the places and scenery that I love. I just had a heartwarming moment recently. Gabe, a little boy who was in my classroom, left in August to study somewhere else. I was sad but we said our goodbyes and I wished him all the best.
And then, a few days ago, one of my colleagues told me we would have one more student in class: our good friend Gabe! It turns out that he told his mother every day while he was gone that he missed me, and so the family decided to re-enroll him in my class. I was so deeply touched.
I have worked in Canada, Mexico and Turkey but Chinese children really are the most loving and giving kids. Their parents truly value education and teachers and they appreciate the work we do with their children. That's why I feel I am part of this big family that is Sunshine Home and that is Xiamen.
