最近，在家长会上，一位妈妈想要了解她3岁孩子感兴趣的方面。她对于蒙特梭利教室里的“工作时间”非常的好奇。这位妈妈告诉我，她想要知道她女儿每天放学带回家的涂鸦是什么意思。
我告诉她孩子的涂鸦是很正常的，他们做的大部分工作或手工对于我们成人来说通常是没有意义的。我还告诉她，孩子是天生的学习者,但她的学习是需要一个过程而不仅仅只是通过某件事情来完成的。在蒙特梭利教室，孩子们能够发展和熟练一些重要的技能，如：手腕关节的活动、书写技能。我补充道：实践比结果更重要，所以在成人眼里，孩子们会为他们不完美的工作和手工感到无比骄傲，这是非常正常的。
我经常鼓励父母在孩子放学回家后跟他们谈谈关于他们在学校一天的见闻。如果不明白孩子白天在学校做了什么，可以和她/他一起坐下来，让孩子表达她/他那不完美的想法、回忆、思想、梦想等，并且孩子的交流也是从不断的练习去达到熟练的。
同时我还建议父母应该对孩子有实事求是的期望，并以积极的方式向孩子们表达。记住，不久以前您也是个孩子！

In our most recent Parents-Teachers meetinga mother wanted to know about her 3-year-old child’s interests. She wasspecifically curious about “work time” in the Montessori room. She added thather child brought home scribbles that she did in class almost every day and shewanted to know what it meant.I told her that it's normal for a young child to scribble and that the work or craft they make often doesn’t make sense to us as adults. I told her that young children are natural learners but that it is a process rather than an event. In a Montessori classroom, we develop and refine important skills like wrist movement and penmanship. I added that the practice it self is more important than the end result. It's absolutely normal and even healthy for a young child to be quite proud of what looks like imperfect work or craft to an adult’s eye.
I always encourage parents and children to talk about their day when they go back home after school. If a parent wants to know what happened in class, sit down and have a conversation with the child. He or she will express his or her ideas, memories, thoughts and dreams imperfectly but the act of communication is only refined through practice.
I also counsel parents to have realistic expectations and to express them in a positive way to their children. Remember,not too long ago you were a child too!
